About

Carolyn

A trusting and safe relationship can make all the difference in therapy, allowing you to explore and develop insight guiding your growth and recovery. I believe strongly in the power of the fit you have with your counsellor making the biggest impact in continuing with therapy to your benefit.

Having a space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and life’s challenges can promote new ways of problem solving and perspective taking, and I take care to allow this process to run at your own pace with your own agenda. Therapy is a very collaborative practice, and you should always feel empowered both in and after sessions.

Whether you need assistance with adjusting to a new chapter in your life, or acknowledging and working through a difficult history, I am comfortable and experienced supporting clients with challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, personality disorders, grief, and relational conflict.

Therapy is approached from a client centered approach, focusing on processing emotions and assisting clients to uncover their own insights and motivations for change, as well as incorporating cognitive and behavioural interventions and DBT skills training when appropriate. I also believe in using the breadth of local resources to your advantage, and will collaborate and refer whenever it will be the best for each client’s needs.
